Talking of Shawnee, they were nomads who moving from one place to another. They inhabited many areas in the Northeast and Southeast. They were moving from one place to another in search of farming land and animals to hunt which made them to be hunters and farmers. As a result of the movement they adopted European way of dressing and they were putting on just like them. They had some famous chiefs such as chief Blue Jacket, Cornstalk and Tecumseh.
Before they migrated to their current place America they were living in Tennessee region around Cumberland river. In new place their lifestyle was being determined by the natural resources, climate and the geographical set up of the region. You find that some of them who were nomads decided to adopt the native Indian culture. Apart from that other group was also made to a nation known as Cherokee Shawnee as a result of endless civic war in America. They lived in different places depending with their major economic practices. Like we had the nomadic Shawnee who lived in birchbark houses which were majorly found in the Woodland areas.
Birchbarks or Wigwams were just small cone shaped houses with an arched roof which were made of wooden frames. This wooden frame was covered with buffalo hides being that it was a major resource in that area. This house was usually about 8-10 feet tall and 10-15 wide.
The native language that the Shawnee were speaking was known as Algonquian. They were also eating different food substances depending with the resources found in the area. We have a group of hunters who were majorly eating buffalo, deer, elk and wild turkey which was being supplemented with roots and vegetables. Apart from that, there was also a category that were eating squirrel, deer, fish, raccoon and beaver supplemented with corn maize, squash and beans. The majority of people who inhabited Southeast part were majorly eating rabbits, wild hogs, turkeys, eagles which were supplemented with corn, beans, dried fruits, pumpkins and nuts.
Among the weapons that they were using were bows, arrows, clubs, hatchet, axes, spears, lenses, knives and riffles. With these weapons they were able to protect themselves, do hunting and some they were using in the farm. Apart from that, their dressing code was being determined by the climate and season. Like in warm climate they were putting breach cloths and fringed tunics, shirts and leggings during cold rainy climate.
